Skrapesk program: tern foraging in the marine environment during the breeding season.
The main objectives of the Skrapesk program are to identify marine areas used by foraging terns during the breeding season and their possible spatial and temporal variation, to identify prey species exploited and to evaluate the possibility of using one or more parameters of the breeding biology of terns as an indicator of the quality of the marine environment for these species. The first year of the study raised some particularly interesting data on types of prey and fishing areas. |
