Study of soil water storage with a neutron moisture probe
In the summer and autumn of 1973, soil water storage in two different locations of a small woody watershed was studied with a neutron moisture probe. It can be observed that, excepted for the fact a groundwater table is present or not, the evolution is similar in both locations.
ln the same way, typical soil-water constants measured in the laboratory are compared with field data. The good agreement of the results shows that such a method could be of a great interest for the study of the water cycle alterations issuing from the elimination of the bocage. |

La suppression du bocage modifie le cycle de l'eau dans le sol.
La méthode neutronique permet de suivre l'évolution d'un profil hydrique tout au long de l'année, sans perturber le milieu naturel. En dépit d'une utilisation parfois délicate, elle peut donner des informations extrêmement intéressantes sur les comportements hydrologiques de différents types de sols ou de couverts végétaux. |
